Thailand

What is the story in Thailand

Back ground
The golden triangle, a major narcotics centre.
The Thai Military is hated by many people and many disagree with the view of the Thai Govt over the troubles in the South.

With that in mind, the majority of the issues have been political and using the GT200 as the tool to bash the Military.

The KINGS Guard use the GT200.

Cpl Ian Jock Forde first introduced the Mole to the Thai government in 2003 and successfully passed 3 of the 4 trials. He went as a member of the UK military ; REEST.
He went on behalf of a third party and not via Global Technical LTd.

Why didn't REEST turn down the request, because the Mole worked. [just thought i would remind the readers!!]
This generated much excitement in Thailand and then in 2005 the first sales were made to the Thai airforce EOD. Just a few units to trial live all over the country. Guess what? Yes,, it worked and they found a number of IEDs.
The Thai airforce purchased many over the next 5 years. Long time for a scam don't you think?

Anyway, back to the story, the Thai airforce introduced it to the Police, CIFS, army, NAvy etc. They trialled it with these departments and worked closely with them.

Global Technical lTd did very few demos in Thailand, the majority being done by the airforce or army.

Global Technical ltd trained the departments often spending periods of 6 months in the country training the various departments.

Why would a scammer/fraudster wish to remain in country and risk being jailed.
Wouldn't the client know once they purchased it that it did not work? Surely when they trained their own country men who would be in the South working, they would notice the device did not work!

Estimates put the saved lives at over 7000 for devices discovered.

What is the arguement of the human rights against the GT200; innocent people have been jailed  by having the GT200 point at them and only finding fertiliser.

How stupid are these people, a little investigation would soon uncover some explanations, but hey , that doesn't help human rights fight the cause does it! What is a common ingredient of home made explosive -- FERTILISER. So people living in the country may test positive for explosives.

It is the procedure of the authorities that is the issue and burden of proof on them to confirm reading of explosives with other equipment. So this is the issue the Human rights should be tackling, not the successful use of a device that detects narcotics, widely used to fund the terrorist actions. A device that has been used successfully to detect explosives.

The GT200 has never been sold as 100% effective and no item could be. People who know nothing about search will not understand the success and usefulness of the GT200, but then , how many people really want to bother looking into anything but headlines that sell newspapers.
